The Paralegal Licensing position is responsible for maintaining mortgage servicing and business licenses across multiple states and jurisdictions. This role involves preparing and submitting license applications, conducting legal and regulatory research, tracking compliance deadlines, and performing audits to ensure adherence to state licensing laws.
• Collaborate with Legal team members to research, acquire, and maintain mortgage servicing and business licenses across multiple states and jurisdictions following established procedures.
• Prepare and submit license applications and compliance reports accurately, timely, and confidentially.
• Monitor deadlines and proactively follow up on outstanding tasks and items without prompting.
• Maintain and update licensing trackers, training aids, and other documents as needed.
• Coordinate with company executives and licensed staff to complete reports and applications.
• Conduct research using various platforms, including NMLS, Westlaw, AllRegs, and state regulatory websites.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from state regulatory agencies.
• Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with state licensing laws and regulations.
• Communicate and interface effectively with all departments within the organization.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of paralegal/legal assistant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Adaptability to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Collaborative mindset for working with management, internal teams, and regulatory agencies.
• Advanced technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet-based programs, databases, and legal research tools.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Paralegal certification.
• Experience with mortgage licensing.
**This is a hybrid role, in-office 2 days per week in Virginia Beach, VA**
Compensation Range: $22.45 -$37.69 hourly. Actual compensation may vary within the range provided, depending on a number of factors, including qualifications, skills and experience.
