Overview

We are seeking to fill the role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer. The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating with clients, industry partners and internal teams to maximize outcomes for homeowners.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for Azure infrastructure, providing guidance and direction on best practices for resource management, security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with our parent company and internal teams to challenge assumptions, review current setups, and recommend improvements in cloud and hybrid infrastructure strategies
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure resources such as Key Vault, Kubernetes, Functions, and Networking, ensuring optimal configurations aligned with business needs.
• Drive infrastructure automation using scripting languages to provision and manage Azure resources.
• Architect and implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for both Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
• Maintain and optimize our hybrid environment, managing an on-premises infrastructure while advancing cloud migration initiatives.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and availability issues, leveraging tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Utilize logical problem-solving to find creative solutions to problems in the environment on a broad scale.
• Act as a senior member of the Systems Engineering Support Team in providing prompt and efficient support to assigned operations; coordinate day-to-day operations, run projects, and assign tasks to Tier 1/2/3 engineers.
• Review domain-level rights and privileges and perform changes as appropriate, review access controls over all servers.
• Perform common administrative tasks.
• Deployment and support of enterprise software, including Microsoft third-party and in-house applications.
• Provide guidance and assign tasks to System Engineers; mentor junior-level Engineers.
• Act as an escalation point for enterprise IT staff for Windows platform issues and corporate IT standards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
• 10+ years direct experience with Windows/Linux administration and maintenance supporting a mid-sized company with $75+ mm revenue.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem resolution.
• 8+ years infrastructure experience with a strong focus on Azure.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, building and managing large-scale infrastructure as code in Azure Environments
• Expertise in managing Azure resources at an enterprise level, including networking, security, and advanced cloud services (Kubernetes, Web Apps, Key Vault, etc)
• Strong understanding of hybrid environments and on-premises infrastructure management
• Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and secure network architecture
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, DFS, FTP, SFT, MFA, Password Management, and SSO.
• Advanced Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights and third-party solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud governance and compliance frameworks, such as cost management, resource tagging, and policy enforcement.
• Advanced Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Yaml, Python, Java for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of basic SQL server fundamentals including setup/installs, queries, basic commands, backup/restores, security.
• Proven ability to multitask between operational and project work efforts.
• Ability to work after business hours and/or on weekends when required to support on-call, maintenance windows, or emergencies.
• Demonstrated ability to seek existing or emerging industry practices in solving business and technology problems.
• Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to stakeholders at all levels,including senior leadership, parent company representatives, and technical teams.
• Strong documentation skills working with business and technical requirements.
• Experience in defining and documenting technology processes and solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.
• Ability to prioritize work, approach tasks with a sense of urgency, be effective in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• A self-starter with an ability to work with minimal direction and effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications
• Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Citrix experience

Work Conditions 

Able to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and to work early, late or weekend hours as needed for successful job performance. Overtime required as necessary.
