Responsibilities

• Conduct complex accounting analyses, reviews, and tasks including preparing/reviewing monthly/quarterly analytics and unaudited financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement for management, auditors, and others as requested).
• Plan/execute financial statement reviews of legal entities to inspect records and verify accounts; ensure propriety, accuracy, and compliance with prescribed procedures.
• Instruct and advise on necessary changes; follow-up to ensure changes are implemented.
• Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, or divisions.
• Record and reconcile transactions at the loan level.
• Examine/analyze LoanCare accounting reports to ascertain the company's financial status/conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).
• Work with Corporate Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis managers to provide data supporting corporate-level deliverables/deadlines.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies/procedures; ensure accounting control procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Oversee accurate/appropriate recording and analysis of revenues/expenses.
• Evaluate/advise on calculations, tracking and projections, net worth, and dividends.
• Collaborate with LoanCare operations and other divisional stakeholders to support client needs.
• Review/monitor financial exhibit preparation for presentation to senior management.
• Participate in the revision of company accounting manuals/intranet content.
• Provide technical accounting advice and coach/mentor accounting staff.
• Stay abreast of accounting calculation regulatory updates and share with staff.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
• 4-6 years of mortgage or financial accounting experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding/knowledge of GAAP; extensive knowledge of allocations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, interpretive, and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide logical solutions for complex situations.
• Ability to use automated financial systems, accounting software, and software specific to department needs.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze accounts and records of a moderate to complex nature.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• A strong work ethic with an ability to take initiative, work under minimal supervision, and effectively meet deadlines.
• Able to engage with all levels of management while projecting a professional image.

WORK CONDITIONS

 

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Ability to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and to work early, late, or weekend hours as needed for successful job performance. Overtime required as necessary.
